South Meck XC has a long history of hard work mixed with fun. It is one of the few sports where all players participate every race and where Varsity teams change week to week. It is arguably one of the hardest sports to compete in. Each season is very different from the last and has many different start times and requirements.

Cross-CountryCross-country starts training for the fall season in June every year and 5k racing begins at the end of August. The season is generally over by the first week in November.

Indoor TrackIndoor Track starts training at the end of October and runs all the way to the beginning of February. At south we use indoor track as more of a conditioning season than a competition season. We still compete, but it is more laid back.

Outdoor TrackOutdoor track is what most people are familiar with when they think of running. The season begins around the beginning of February and runs until the end of May. Due to increased interest, there will have to be try outs and cuts, but there are lots of positions to try out for.
